Top Bathroom Trends for 2023
Our bathroom is now a wellness sanctuary to unwind and indulge ourselves. Whether you’re updating or building a new bathroom, it is important to know what the current trends are to plan accordingly. Many of these trends are showcased at the world-renowned Salone Del Mobile fair in Milan where world-leading brands in furniture and furnishings exhibit the latest in design from countries throughout the world each year. Let us take you through a few of the trends you will see this year.
FINISHES
No longer is chrome the go-to finish for fixtures in the bathroom such as tapware, showers and accessories. Having a finish that matches into the rest of the design décor of a home is now the norm. At Salone Del Mobile in 2022, finishes that were rich in earthy tones set the scene. GESSI exhibited a range of tapware in rich corals, mustard oranges and agave greens. These new finishes were also exhibited with current finish trends of metallic blacks, copper and brushed tones. These colour palettes were also seen in other areas of the home from lighting through to décor trends.
KNURLING & FLUTED FIXTURES
One of the major design trends is knurling and fluted patterns in tapware, cabinetry, basins & baths. This involves the etching of a pattern into the products material during the manufacturing process. The result is a stunning jewellery like aesthetic. GESSI was one of the first companies to introduce knurling into its bathroom tapware collections. Ranges such as 316 and Inciso have a variety of knurled designs that also come in an extensive range of finishes. TECHNOLOGY
Technology has come a long way in the bathroom. We now can remotely control the temperature in your bathroom with smart heating both on the floor and internally. There is now a variety of lighting available with the ability to set your bathroom scene the way you prefer. In our GESSI Shower range, we also have a shower with lights in the WELLNESS Shower Collection that can be controlled according to your personal preference.
SUSTAINABILITY
Ensuring our precious water is well preserved through the fixtures we purchase is another trend within the tapware industry. Here in Australia, we test our bathroom fixtures and provide a WELS label on each product showing its water efficiency. This is done for tapware, showers and toilets.
